Hot on the heels of our Ethical Champions win, we are delighted to announce that Greenhouse has been shortlisted in not one but four categories in this year’s PRCA DARE Awards (South West and Wales region):
- Small consultancy of the year
- Media relations award: Organic. Feed Your Happy campaign (OTB)
- Low budget campaign award: Launch of the Nature Friendly Farming Network
- Rising star of the year: Jenny Briggs
The DARE Awards were established by the PRCA – the trade association for the public relations industry – as a way to seek out and reward outstanding PR and communications professionals across the UK.
As part of our mission to create change, we want to encourage other PR agencies to address the issue of sustainability and put purpose before profit. Having our team and our work recognised by the leading industry trade association is an important step to achieving that goal and will hopefully inspire others to follow suit and help scale the change we need to see in the world.
Small consultancy of the year
Greenhouse PR was established with a single-minded belief in the power of PR to drive positive social and environmental change. Our mission stems from a deep-rooted commitment to address climate change and its impact on the world’s poorest people.
We work exclusively with pioneers – NGOs, entrepreneurs and businesses – creating positive social and environmental change. We focus on where we can create the greatest impact, helping our clients communicate and scale the ideas, products and services that we need to create a bright, more sustainable future.
Based in Bristol, the UK’s green capital, Greenhouse is a certified B Corp and we invest 30% of consultancy time pro-bono to help scale social enterprises that are driving change.
Media relations award
Greenhouse launched the Organic. Feed Your Happy campaign on behalf of the Organic Trade Board to raise awareness of the benefits and celebrate the joy of eating organic food.
We secured over 100 articles in mainstream media, with a total reach of 8.4 million. Highlights included a full page in The Times, Telegraph, Hello! Magazine, four pages in Observer Food Monthly, a double page spread in BBC Good Food as well as full pages in Reveal and Closer.
Almost all (96%) of the coverage mentioned ‘Organic. Feed Your Happy’ and 85% featured the campaign hashtag #FeedYourHappy.
Low budget campaign award
Brexit provides a once-in-a-generation opportunity to influence the future of British farming.
Across the UK, there are already thousands of farmers operating sustainably. The Nature Friendly Farming Network (NFFN) unites these farmers and gives them a powerful voice on the future of farming – calling for policy change to reward farmers who manage their land for the benefit of people and nature.
Greenhouse devised a high-profile launch at the Oxford Real Farming Conference to amplify the reach of NFFN. We generated 480 broadcast, print and online features, with a total reach of over 20 million, and increased NFFN’s farmer community on social media by over 500%.
Rising star of the year
Jenny embodies the Greenhouse mission and cares passionately about the environment, civil rights and social action.
Described as the ‘Mary Poppins of PR’ by Telegraph journalist, Hattie Garlick, Jenny works tirelessly to secure exceptional results for her clients, which include Organix, Sustainable Soils Alliance, the Organic Trade Board and Natracare.
Jenny puts her communications skills to good use outside work too, and single-handedly set up the Bristol branch of the global Soup movement, raising over £1,500 for community development projects across the city.
A true rising star if ever there was one!
DARE to be different
We dare to be different – and it works. Purpose can come before profit. And PR can be a force for good. Whether it’s shifting pension funds away from fossil fuels, shining a light on toxic practices in the fast fashion supply chain or pioneering a low carbon smart grid, Greenhouse delivers campaigns that create tangible impact in the sectors most in need of transformation.
We’ll found out whether we’ve been successful at the ceremony on 14 June, so watch this space!
